Campfire pancakes 🥞 Warm buttermilk pancakes Campfire pancakes 🥞 Warm buttermilk pancakes make for a delicious campfire breakfast and are perfect for getting little glampers involved too! Guests can premix the dry ingredients at home to save time. Makes 16 pancakes 125g plain flour 1 tbsp caster sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1/2tsp bicarb 250ml buttermilk (can use regular milk) 1 egg 25g butter, melted Butter for greasing and maple syrup (or your topping of choice) for serving Melt the butter in a frying pan Meanwhile add to a bowl the flour, caster sugar, baking powder and bicarb Beat together the egg, buttermilk and melted butter in a measuring jug.

Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and slowly pour in the wet ingredients, whisking constantly until a smooth batter forms. 

Ensure you have a hot frying pan. In the pan you melted your butter in (add more to grease the pan if required) spoon the mixture into the pan. Not too close together as it will spread. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface and the underside of the pancakes are golden brown, then flip over to cook for another few minutes. 

Transfer to a plate and cook the rest of the batter in the same way, greasing the pan with butter as needed. Top the pancakes with a knob of butter and drizzle with maple syrup or your preferred topping before serving.

The majority of our weekends are booked out on an The majority of our weekends are booked out on an exclusive hire basis by family groups and we find the set up works very well. Lots of feedback that we get about the site and why families and kids love it can be summed up in one word ‘freedom’. 🏃‍♀️ The glamping field provides an ideal space for children to run free, explore and play in a safe, peaceful child-friendly environment 🤸‍♂️🌳

Back in April we had a different type of guest vis Back in April we had a different type of guest visit the Glamping field in the form of swallows! They set up home in the corner of the Glamping kitchen and have been with us for the entire season. Mummy swallow has had 2 broods with the the latest just fledged 🪽 We’ve been told they very often return to the same nest the following year. 🤞🏼, our guests have throughly enjoyed watching them during their stay.
